The 71-year-old singer ignites the ‘The Voice’ stage with ‘Stand By Me.’

The Voice senior participant Jimi Bellmartin’s stirring performance of the R&B standard “Stand By Me” during the finals stole the show.

Bellmartin might publish an EP and give a live performance at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome after winning the season. Bellmartin had been the clear favorite since the start of that year.

When he began singing James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World” from the opening notes of his audition, all the coaches turned around at once.

In this two-and-a-half-minute video, Jimi Bellmartin sings Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” at The Voice Senior’s The Final. The song is captivating and is expertly performed by him, especially the chorus “stand by me.” It is quite moving.

When he first arrived in Holland, he was a year old. As a child, he ended up in Vught. Bellmartin has been singing his entire life. Not just at events, but also as the background vocals for well-known performers like Percy Sledge, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, and The Trammps.

He has spent years traveling the globe and demonstrating his talent to many audiences. More than two million viewers saw the soul singer perform “Loving Someone” to win the RTL talent competition. He trained under Gordon and Gerard Joling.

Bellmartin’s debut single, “This is My Love Song,” was made available in 1970. In 2007, the funk group The Soul Snatchers introduced Bellmartin as their lead singer. Bellmartin’s rendition of “Stand By Me” on The Voice is one of the most enduring due to his distinctive soul vibe.
