14-Year-Old Wows Judges With Queen Cover on America’s Got Talent

Rock stars, get over here! A 14-year-old newcomer has arrived! Teen prodigy Dylan Zangwill astonished the judges and the audience with a powerful performance of Queen’s classic Somebody to Love during an unexpectedly impressive America’s Got Talent audition. He did it all while expertly tickling the ivories.

Dylan arrived on stage with his trademark long locks and quiet assurance, just like any other Pennsylvanian teenager from a tiny town—until he opened his mouth and the magic began. Dylan remarked nonchalantly that he would be playing the piano and singing when asked what he would be doing. Not a huge thing, is it? False. Absolutely incorrect.

As it happens, this young man has been practicing his profession almost since infancy. Howie, Sofia, and Simon were clearly impressed when he informed the judges, “I’ve been doing this all my life,” before disclosing that he was just 14. His grounded demeanor, however, was what truly captured hearts. Dylan merely replied, “I like hearing about what other people are doing,” in response to Simon’s question about why he doesn’t discuss his talent more. I don’t really enjoy talking about myself. The audience fell in love right away, and the judges were enchanted.

The performance followed, and wow. Dylan took over the stage from the very first note. He turned the AGT stage into a rock arena with his impeccable pitch, amazing vibrato, and confidence that was much beyond his years. Sofia was grinning, Howie was cheering, and Simon even broke into a rare smile.

The audience erupted in cheers as Dylan struck the keys one last time and the last note rang out, and this shy, modest teenager simply grinned. Just brilliance and grace, without any ego or showmanship.

In addition to being a musical moment, Dylan’s performance served as a reminder that genuine brilliance doesn’t require shouting. It sings occasionally, and when it does, the whole house falls apart.
