The 82nd Airborne Military Choir stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage with a powerful mission behind their audition. Representing the 82nd Airborne Division, the soldiers explained that they were there not only to compete, but also to represent the thousands of soldiers serving in their division. Their appearance immediately caught the judges’ attention, but there was an even more personal reason behind their performance.
Just days before their audition, the choir had lost one of their fellow soldiers, Elijah Crawford. They decided to dedicate their performance to his memory and to honor other soldiers who had made the ultimate sacrifice. With that emotional message in mind, they chose to sing “My Girl,” transforming a familiar song into a deeply personal tribute to someone they had lost.
When the soldiers finally began singing, the atmosphere in the room changed completely. What initially looked like a group of military personnel standing on the AGT stage turned into a powerful vocal performance filled with harmony, emotion, and unity.
