In September, the Des Moines Fire Department in Iowa received a fire alarm that started in an apartment building.
It was the firefighter Malcolm Cortner who saw a mastiff inside the apartment building.
The rescuers placed an oxygen mask on the 16-month-old mastiff and were able to revive it. The dog also needed expensive medical treatment. Malcolm called the owners about the sad news. But the owners told that they couldn’t cover the expenses and that the dog should be euthanized because of it.
At that time Malcolm decided to adopt the dog. He paid all the medical bills and after a full recovery, he adopted the dog. Malcolm requested the department if he could take in the dog and have him as his new best friend.
