1aChord stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage with a story that seemed almost unbelievable. The trio—made up of Tavis Cunningham, Christoff Hairston, and Julian Kennedy—had only been singing together for a short time after meeting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Despite being a newly formed group, their chemistry and brotherhood were immediately apparent.
For their audition, 1aChord performed a beautiful and emotional cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You.” Their rich harmonies, gospel-inspired sound, and heartfelt delivery captivated both the audience and the judges from the very first note. As the song built toward its powerful finale, the trio showcased remarkable vocal control and unity, creating one of the most memorable singing auditions of the season.
The judges were full of praise after the performance, applauding the group’s unique sound and undeniable talent. Simon Cowell was particularly impressed by how perfectly their voices blended together, while the audience responded with enthusiastic applause. Their audition earned four yes votes and sent them through to the next round, marking the beginning of an inspiring journey on America’s Got Talent.
