Recently a Western Lowland Gorilla gave birth to a baby. The new mother was in great excitement and couldn’t control her emotions.
She hugged her baby and showed the visitors by lifting it into the air before kissing the newborn’s forehead.
Western Lowland Gorilla is a critically endangered species, and therefore this birth is seen as an especially happy moment.
Though all animal lovers are against keeping any animal in captivity, this case is justified as the species is endangered. But due to the efforts of kind-hearted people six adult, Western Lowland Gorillas live at the Calgary Zoo. The population has shrunk by 80% during the past 30 years, according to Calgary Zoo.
