Following losing her best cat buddy a dog would become a stepparent to over 100 babies

A dog would raise more than 100 children as a stepparent after losing her best cat friend.

Zeca the dog was found several decades ago wandering the streets of Portland. She was pregnant and the dog appeared to have been mistreated. Zeca was detained and taken to a shelter, where she gave birth and had her children placed for adoption. But it wasn’t easy to find a home for the dog.

It took Ronda, a worker at the shelter, five months to bring Zeca to her. She has known for a long that Zeca behaves in a completely different way from the majority of the other shelter dogs. When visitors arrived, “all of the dogs were overjoyed and acted out in their cage, shouting and whirling in the round.”

Ronda decided to bring the dog home since she felt bad for him. She already had indoor cats, but Zeca quickly picked up on their language.

She developed a very close relationship with an old cat named Guinness. The cat died soon after, breaking Zeca’s heart. Rousey and Zika spent a lot of time together in the shelter, and when a small kitten named Monkey was taken in one morning, Zuko showed Monkey a lot of motherly affection.

Monkey was Zucchi’s first adopted “son.” All of the abandoned kittens who arrived at the shelter soon adopted her as their stepmother.
